History
Company and Founding Partners
b-cube was founded in March 2008 with the objective to provide a high-quality data analysis and visualization service of large three-dimensional images. Additionally, the company provides a complete service in the field of micro-computed tomography (micro-CT).
At the time of the founding, the partners were all members of the Institute for Biomechanics at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. This institute is one of the world leading micro-CT labs in the field of bone research. Research in this field mainly involves the invention of new software and tools to process, analyze, and visualize data from the micro-CT scanners. In their work, the three founders gained a lot of experience in processing complex projects and in handling very large three-dimensional datasets.
In the initial phase, the customers of b-cube were all from the field of biomaterials and implantology. Over time, the company could also acquire customers from other fields and thus gain experience in the processing of non biological materials. Common to all customers is their need to quantify and visualize the three-dimensional internal structure of complex objects.
June 2010
In June 2010, b-cube moved to the Bio-Technopark in Schlieren-Zürich. This new location is ideal to further grow the company and develop new products.
